The X-Venture Skateboard Contest 2009 was a success!  Mad fun seeing all of you yesterday & watching some really good skateboarding!  I’m proud to see how good the skaters in HK have become!

Big congrats to Chun Chai that won the game of Skate, (probably one of the best Game of Skates I’ve watched in Hong Kong!) Mini ramp Jam & Best trick Flat Bar!  Chun Chai is amazing, he is truly one of the most talented skateboarders I know.
Big congrats to  Tai Chai for winning the best trick contest on the bank to bank!

Finally, a BIG BIG thanks to every one that supported this event, the Ted & Mini @ Youth Outreach, LeeHawk & Jenn @ Vans, Oli @ Element, Kit @ HKIT store, Brian @ 8Five2 shop, & each & every skater that came to skate, watch & have fun yesterday!

I love blasting some air!  Thanks to LeeHawk for shooting these pics of me last weekend!

I’m trying to get into shape ‘coz I can’t wait to check out the new Skatepark  in Singapore, which was built by Convic (same folks that built the SMP park in Shanghai)

The “Singapore’s National Extreme Sports Facility” is opening this weekend with a big event that brings in Skaters & Pros from all around the world to compete.   Its very impressive how Singapore, Malaysia & China have such good government support for Skateparks & extreme sports; unlike Hong Kong, where the authorities still treat skateparks as ‘Recreation-Play-areas” no different from childrens playgrounds, thats why most new skateparks in HK so far are, well, SHIT.

So much for claiming to be “ASIA’S WORLD CITY”.

ANYWAY, I will be flying down to Singapore tomorrow & look forward to blasting some big air with some good freinds!

One of the BEST EVER games released for the PlayStation 2, Katamari or better known in Hong Kong as “塊魂”  recently released the PlayStation 3 version of this game, called “Katamari Tribute” (US version is called “Katamari Forever”).
The game  so addicting, I’ve been playing this game for the last few days & not getting enough sleep!  So whats this game about?

“….The game’s plot concerns a diminutive prince on a mission to rebuild the stars, constellations and Moon, which were accidentally destroyed by his father, the King of All Cosmos. This is achieved by rolling a magical, highly adhesive ball called a katamari around various locations, collecting increasingly larger objects, ranging from thumbtacks to people to mountains, until the ball has grown large enough to become a star.”

The game is fun because of the scale. Levels begin with a tiny Katamari rolling through picking up buttons, spiders, erasers, and pieces of fruit, etc…   30 mins later the Katamari is big enough to rip through cities & mountains!

There is a strange perverse sense of satisfaction when you roll over various things while controlling your ‘cute’ cartoon character, with fun background music & the people in the game screaming & running  in terror when your “katamari” rolls through…..

FUN FUN FUN!   Highly recommended. I got the Japanese version so I have no clue what the hell the dialog is about. But I will get the English version when it is released in September 2009. In the mean time, check out the official website here.

WAIT A MINUTE!  They released  this game for the ipod / iphone too!
